This notices was originally posted on the Townsend board - message 2582
I'm afraid my request for information is vague in that I have only initials. I found on ancestry.com's on-line census images for Tipton County TN for 1880 the name F.A. Townsend listed in District One. The image I printed out has page 36 Supervisor's district 5 and Enumeration dist no 153. I ran across this while looking for information on my grandmother's mother's family. Anyway, F.A. Townsend is listed as a female age 78. Listed as members of her household were her daughter L.J. Tisdale (this is what the name looks like to me but I could be wrong b/c it also looks like Tisdula) age 47 and her grandchildren - R.H. Tisdale male age 21, G.T. Tisdale male age 20, L.E. Tisdale female (but hard to read) age 16, P.S. Tisdale male age 13, T.B. Tisdale male age 12, and Henry Townsend male age 19.
Does anyone know anything about who F.A. Townsend is and any information about her child/children and grandchildren?
In my great grandfather's (John Craig) obit it says that his first wife was Lula Tisdale of this town (meaning Covington in Tipton County TN) and that she died just over a year after they married. I am curious to find out if L.E. Tisdale listed in the 1880 census is his first wife. It's hard to be certain with only initials and since I don't know when they married or when she died I'm having a hard time finding any information.
Any information that anyone might have on F.A. Townsend or her family would be appreciated. Thanks Leslie
