Looking for information on my gg.aunt, born as Talitha "Lithie" J. Gist (also seen as Guess and Guest). She was born in 1859 in Marion Co. AL., to James Harve Gist and Nancy Jane Pace.
She had an older sister, Nancy Ann and a younger brother, John Posey Gist, also possibly several younger half-siblings who were Thompson's by surname.
Talitha was in Marion Co., AL., at the age of 1 in 1860.
She was shown as Talitha J., in Prentiss Co., MS., at the age of 11 in 1870, but implied to be using her step-surname of Thompson.
I found the marriage record of Talitha J. Guest to T.J. Hutchens on March 5, 1876 in Prentiss Co., MS.
After this, I do not find Talitha for sure.
Family legend tells that she married a Thompson, but am not sure if they are confusing her step-father's surname with that of her married name. Also, it was said that she lived in or near Covington TN. (which I see is in Tipton Co.)
Also, not sure, but it is said she had children named;
Louis/Lewis, Willie, Pearl, Dennis (or Dallas), and Gertrude...not sure if they were Hutchens or Thompson's....or some other name by birth.
Talitha's sister, Nancy Ann was my gg.grandmother, and she lived out the remaining years of her life in Madison Co., TN., near Jackson city.
