STATE OF TENNESSEE - SHELBY COUNTY.
TO ANY REGULAR MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL HAVING THE CARE OF SOULS, OR ANY JUSTICE OF THE PEACE .
THESE ARE TO AUTHORISE YOU, OR EITHER OF YOU, to solemnize the RITES OF MATRIMONY between Jacob W Misenhimer and Hetty Slough of your county , agreeably to an Act of Assembly , in such case made and provided ---------
---- Provided , always , that the said Hetty Slough be an actual resident of your county ; otherwise these shall be null and void to all intents and purposes , and no license or authority to you , or either of you , more than though the same have never been prayed or granted , &c.
Given at the Clerk's Office of said county, this 24 day of Decr 1838

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS , That we , Jacob W Misenhimer and _________________ of the County of Shelby and State of Tennessee , are held and firmly bound unto the GOVERNOR OF SAID STATE, for the time being, in the sum of TWELVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS , to be paid to his Ecellency, his sucessors in office, or Assigns , to which payment , well and truly to be made , we bind ourselves , our heirs , executors and administrators , and each and every of us and them jointley and severally , firmly by these presents ,
WITNESS , our hands and seals , this 24 day of Decr 1838
The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas Jacob W Misenhimer hath this day prayed and obtained license to marry Hetty Slough .
Now if the said Hetty Slough be an actual resident of the county aforesaid , and there shall not hereafter appear any lawful cause why the said Jacob W and Hetty should not be joined together in Holy Matrimony as husband and wife, then this obligation be void and of no effect: otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Jacob & Esther are both buried at Munford Cemetery, Covington, Tipton County,Tennessee .
