Thomas Leachman Boswell , b May 9 1816 Orange Co. NC, d 30 Jul 1904 Fayette Co. TN, married Oct 6 1837 Gibson Co TN, Charlotte Jones b 19 Jul 1821 TN, d 30 Jul 1904, d/o John W. and Elizabeth (Perry) Jones. Thomas was the son of Thomas Boswell b abt Sep 27 1779,died Oct 6 1822, and as nearly as I can figure was not related to the Tipton County Boswells. Thomas 1779 was the son of Edward Boswell whose will of 1830, Orange Co. NC is of record. Thomas 1779 married Mary Sims.His sister Susannah Boswell married Thomas Leachman, and evidently Thomas Leachman Boswell was named after his uncle.
Dickson Simpson Boswell is also of that family, the Simpsons married into the Edward Boswell family .
It is my belief that the Tipton County Boswells descend from John and Jennie/Jane (Hensley) Boswell from Albemarle County VA, but still trying to prove it.
