It could easily have been a nickname for Nancy or Ann. Nannie is how she was listed on the census in TX. I still have no idea if Browning was a maiden name or a middle name. If it was a middle name,which is the most likely, then quite possible that her mother was a Browning, but I have no idea what her mother's name was. Do you have any Browning females who married a Proctor in that book ? Thanks for your help.
