I believe I'm searching for the same THORNTON family. My ancestor was Mary Elizabeth Thornton. She's related some way to Seth Thornton. She was one of his heirs. Her father's name was supposedly Perry Thornton. They were Cherokee and lived in NC and TN about 1820-40.
