I am a descendant of Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Thornton and Luke Wood thru their daughter Malissa. My mother has always told me that Mary Thornton was a Cherokee Indian and that her father's name was Seth. I am having a difficult time documenting that and finding information about him. I have seen documents showing that she was one of Seth Thornton's heirs. Would welcome any information that you could share and am willing to share what I have. I have a picture of Malissa Wood.
