Carrie, Brent and all descendants of Richard and Polly Martin MOUNT!!!!! Eureka. Yesterday, my husband and I finally FOUND the cemetery. What an adventure for two folks close to 60!. Thanks goodness it was a sunny day after a freeze. We found several broken stones. We found one stone for a HIGHT, but need to check my records from home as I am in Atlanta right now. But.....Richard MOUNT's stone is right next to a tree trunk and is in wonderful shape except that it's sunken down about halfway, I think. I think the first grave we found lying flat on the ground may be that of Joseph W. HIGHT, but again, my records are at home. I would discourage only the bravest of hearts to try to get up to this cemetery. It is surrounded by mean, nasty thorny trees, lots of briars and brambles. I had on heavy jeans and my thighs look like I was in a cat fight!!! A neighbor of the property says that the Harris family is talking about selling the property. Another warning from this guy was that there are rattlesnakes up there. He didn't even know that there was a cemetery up there.
The cemetery sits up the hill from the old house in a clump of leafless deciduous trees or dead evergreen ones.

Took digital pictures but really haven't had a chance to put them on screen to see if I really got anything. Tonight!!!! Tonight!!!! Won't be just any night. Can you tell I'm excited. Be back in Indiana on Monday.
Now I've seen the Matthias MOUNT grave in Rockingham Co, NC and Richard MOUNT in Wilson Co, now if I could just find William MOUNT's grave, I'd be happy and have all the links.
Hope all of you have a happy Thanksgiving. You may also respond to me at Crownpt@aol.com
