go to www.google.com

type in train + killed + 1933 (try all years you think it may be)
you will get several hits

also try Orphanage + due to death
or things such as that. The train killing was more than likely in the newspaper. Your mother's first name may have been kept (that sometimes happened depending on how old she was).
