Seeking information on the parents of WILLIAM McCLAIN
(b. JAn 25, 1773, Guilford CO., NC?)(d. Nov 2, 1814, WCT) who married Elizabeth Foster (b. June 12, 1777, Guilford Co., NC)(d. Dec 25, 1856, Wilson Co., TN).
William McClain was one of the magistrates selected to hold the first County Court in Wilson Co., TN.
The Foster, Doak, Donnell, and McAdow families all lived in the area of North Carolina where the Nottingham Colony settled from Lancaster (Chester) Co., PA. There were at least two McLean/McClain lines in Guilford Co.....Moses and John.
