My name is John Rose. My great Grandfather born in Greenwich Kent, U.K. in 1839 was a RANSFORD JOHN TOOKEY ROSE. I understand that at that time it was quite usual for a person to have a given name that was a family name of a femail ancester, so it is possible that there was a connection sometime in the 1700s with a Tookey Family in Kent. My Gr. Gr. Grandfather was Henry John Rose who married a Clara Sisson from Chatham in Kent and his father was a Henry Rose married to a Judith Winkfield in Greenwhich in 1810. If anyone researching Tookeys from Kent has any connections with Sisson or Winkfield I would love to hear from you.
