Mary Ann TRAVERS was born 13 Dec 1865 in Ballymaconaghy, Clonallan, County Down. She married Samuel LAIRD in Scotland on 18 Feb 1887, She died 17 Aug 1904 in Belfast, Ireland. Her Father was John TRAVERS, a farmer in Ballymaconaghy and who appears in a published document for WARRENPOINT in 1899. John TRAVERS was born about 1836 and he was married to Mary Anne (sometimes known as Jane) ROSS. This marriage must have taken place some time between 1860-1863 as I have been told that Mary Ann had an older brother named John. I have been unable to find his birth, though I have found other siblings of Mary Ann. I suspect that the John TRAVERS listed in the Warrenpoint directory may be, not the father but, the brother of Mary Ann. Equally, Samuel LAIRD's birthplace has eluded both my cousin and myself, though we strongly suspect he may hav been born either in the Warrenpoint area or near Magherafelt, Co. Londonderry. As usual any help is appreciated and I am willing to share whatever I can with interested searchers.
