This is the Martin who lived in Fells Point for a time. He is NOT the Martin who lived in Dickeyville, Md. Carlock blends the information in his book about the Judy family, as if they were one individual. For the benefit of the descendants of Martin from Dickeyville, I include the following paragraph. According to Joe McKee, a Tschudi researcher, "This other Martin Tschudi (of Dickeyville, Md) had at least three children; a son Weinbert who married Action Hissey and apparently moved to SE Maryland and /or Delaware; a son Samuel who married Eliza Clemm and apparently lived in Baltimore until the 1840's at least; and a daughter Sarah who married Charles T. Peregroy. I believe this Martin was from the Canton Basel in Switzerland. He built a mill on the Jones Falls in Balto. County, and there's a photograph of him in Dickeyville. My Baltimore City Martin was b. 22 Dec 1744 in Schwanden, Canton Glarus, Switzerland, d. 2 Jun 1836 at age 91 in Balto. Md. In June of 1776 he enlisted in the Continental Army while living in Chester, PA. He m. Anna Barbara Adams in Philadelphia, PA on 9 Sep 1777 at the German Reformed church following his discharge from serv. in the Continental Army in Jan 1777 in that same city. Thei children were: John (Johannes) Jacob, Margaret (Margaretha), Martin, Anna, and two Barbaras (one died early). If you believe you're descended from my Balto. City Martin, you can find more information on my family tree site at http://www.whatcoat.com/bj . Be sure to check the Documents Menu and Virtual Cemetery. Notify Administrator about this message?
