Very interesting, and thank you, but it raises yet more questions, assumptions and guesses.
Did you search for all Udial's / Udall's in Lancashire and surrounding area, or is this just a subset of what you found?
I assume that Charles and Ann's seconds dates are their marriage dates (yet they are missing for William & Elizabeth for some reason). I also assume that the first place mentioned is their birthplace, and the second is where they were living in 1861.
This seems to show that Charles (who married Ann Barlow) was not living with Ann in 1861 - he was either boarding in Carlisle (as shown in the census), dead, or somewhere else (not covered by your query). But it looks like his parents might have been Williams and Elizabeth. Did the marriage certificate show an 8-year difference between Charles and Ann? If so, then the Charles in this census is probably Ann Barlow's wife (married at the age of 15, with William born the very next year!).
Then it looks like William younger is living near his grandparents in Bury, rather than with his mother or father.
With all these assumptions and guesses, it looks like we might have the whole family from William + Elizabeth, through Charles + Ann, to William (whose descendents I know very well, as I am one of them), which is very exciting.
