My family has had little luck in tracing beyond (my grandfather) George, m. Ellen Bonner in NY,NY, late 19th cent. Connected to Alexander Vache, M.D. in some way. Legend has family origin in Ireland, but I think it more likely connected thru the patronym to the same family, originating with bros, from France later 18th cent.?
In the generation before mine, there were 6 borthers: Charles, George, Robert, John nee Joseph K. (my father), Thomas and Theodore.
