Perry's are my line, particularly Calvin T. Perry and he seems to have been either living with or near the Vaden family from Smith Co Tennessee. Calvin Perry and the Winston Perry family had roots in North Carolina, their parents moved to Smith County Ten by 1838 when Calvin was born, in the 1850 census Calvin is living in a Vaden household and down the road is Winston, by 1860 Calvin and Winston Perry and some of the Vadens have moved to Hopkins Co Texas where he marries Hettie Ewing in Nov of the same year. In Texas he lives next door to a Vaden and a man named High and down the road still is Winston Perry. Their oldest son Travis Mitchell Perry was born in Hopkins Co. He is my great grandfather. Hettie Ewing's family owns the local store and on their ledger is French S. Vaden - Lodwick Vaden - Lodwick Vaden, Jr. - Sam A. Vaden - Wm. B. Vaden - W. H. H. Vaden - Wm. Vaden, Sr. - James Vance. I'd have to look back but I believe all of these people were in the Cumberland/Caney River Fork area of Smith Co Tennessee. Except for French Vaden who if I remember right was born in Texas. Calvin was living in the Lodwick Vaden household in Tennessee. After Calvin marries Hettie Ewing and they have my great grandfather they move back to the same area in Smith Co Ten. They are there around 1864 and listed on the 1870 census. The rest of their children are born there. Then by 1880 they are back in Texas where Calvin dies in 1880. I don't know who Calvins parents were. Some researchers have said that his parents are Burrell and Sophia Perry from Coffee Co Ten and there is a Calvin Perry listed in their household in 1860 but the age is wrong and I know my Calvin Perry is in Texas and about to marry Hettie Ewing at that time. So. I've noticed this Vaden family always near my Perry family and thought they may through his mother perhaps been related. They go back to at least 1850 together and maybe further if they came from the same area of North Carolina. May be a long shot but one that has intrigued me.
