Greetings All,

The Vaden Family Genealogical Research Center is a website that has been established as a centralized location for storing Vaden Family information.

My purpose in establishing this website is:

First, enable those of us who have been researching the Vaden family, but have hit 'roadblocks' to (hopefully), be able to knock down those 'roadblocks'.

Second, to assist future researchers so that they will have an easier time finding their family.

Third, I hope to provide a full list of sources to verify the data we have found.

Fourth, I want to link together data from all over the internet into one place for easier access. For example, I have found Vaden gravesite information at www.findagrave.com, www.teafor2.com, Rootwebs county pages, Rootsweb Tombstone Listing Project, and other places. I like to idea to listing gravesite information (particulary tombstone pictures) in one place.

The website is up and running. This is an initial load of the data on the Vaden family that I have loaded to my database. I have noticed that I have not entered all of my sources correctly. That will be my next task. In so doing, I will be going back through all of my notes to insure I have given proper credit. This will take a while as I have over 2000 names listed on the site.

Down the road I hope to create a 'more professional website'. I decided that, for now, the data was more than the website appearance. Besides, the Rootsweb WorldConnect project works well.

Please stop by and visit (often). If you find errors, please let me know and I will correct them. Please provide sources for the information you are provided. Anyone who would like to contribute to the site is more than welcome. I will give due credit for all contributions. Again, sources would be very helpful.

I am excited to see how far this will go. Any spelling of Vaden (i.e., Vaudin, Vadin, Vaiden, Voden, Vodin, etc) are welcome. I also welcome Vaden's from anywhere and any background. Another researcher have undertaken a similar project with the Blankenship name and now have 75,000+ names on his site.

The website is http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=vadenfgrc.

Happy Hunting,

Charlie Vines
