My great great grandmother Adele Legasse died in 1918 in Brewer, Maine. She listed her birth as 6 Feb 1860 in Quebec City. She listed her parents as John Lessor b:abt 1834 and Mary Varney both born in Canada. After some thought I am thinking that perhaps I should be looking for Jean or Jean Baptiste Lessard and Marie Vadnais. The Quebecois phonetic pronunciation of Vadnais may sound like Varney to American ears. Has anyone come across this couple in their research?
