Does anyone know about the John Vail b. 1789 in New Jersey?
I have him traced through the censuses from 1830 (Washington County, NC)to 1870 in Hamilton County, TN. Cannot find hin yet in the 1820 census or before.
He was listed with his daughter Penelope born 1818 in the 1850 census and her son John Majors 14 years old who is then listed in the Blind Academy in TN and Penelope married a Plesant Kerby by 1860. Also listed with Penelope and Plesant Kirby are Voils & Trail.
In 1870 John b. 1789 is married to a Sarah and they have a small son John 11 years old. Looks like he could have married Sarah A. ? about 1859. In 1880 Sarah & John 21 years old are listed but John Sr. is not. I think this is my line.
