I have tried for many years to find my Vairs. Andrew Vair says he was born in 1842 in Edinburgh, Scotland (which I doubt) and he maried in 1870 in Coppersville, Ottawa, Michigan to Elvira Edwards. They moved to Davenport, Iowa and had at least one child - Cenaah Albert Vair who was born in 1873. The story in the family is that Andrew came from Scotland at an early age hiding on a ship??? Elvira died after a miscarriage about 1885 and Cenaah and Bill Thompson(Elvira's son by first marriage) ran away from home.
They went to many states (wyoming included) and ended up in
Denver Colorado about 1900-1902 (I have them here definitely in 1902. My husband is Cenaah's grandson. I am over the years determined that Andrew was probably in Canada before Michigan but I have not been able to find anything - I would appreciate any help.
