Yes, I know who this is. However, I don't know a lot more than you do. This is what I do know: Frank Noyes b:c1850 Anna Marie Van Deren b: c1855 daughter of: Theophilus Van Deren and Elizabeth (Markham) Smith Married: 17 Jan 1876 In 1927 Frank and Anna lived in Austin TX and in 1929 lived in Dallas. They had 3 sons that I know of: 1. Nathan b: 04 May 1879 (could be 1877) died: 05/06 Feb 1882 bur: Dodge Grove Cem. in Mattoon, Coles Co. IL He died of Scarlet Fever. He was age 3 in the 1880 Coles Co. IL census. 2. Francis (Frank) b:01 Sep 1880 in Mattoon. 3. Gale/Cale b: 15 Oct 1881 in Mattoon. I have never done much research on this family. Maybe I should! father: Theophilus was b:09 Mar 1822/3 in KY. He died in 10 Apr 1891 in Coles Co. IL He is buried in Dodge Grove Cem., Mattoon IL. Theophilus' parents were: Jesse Van Deren and Nancy Jones Jesse died in KY and is buried there. When her brothers-in-law came to Coles Co. IL in 1836, she was a widow with 4 children. So she came along with them. They all settled within a few miles of each other. It is very interesting to read the early history of coles Co. The Van Derens were mentioned quite often. Mother: Elizabeth Markham Smith b:17 May 1821 in Paris, Bourbon Co. KY d: c21 Dec 1893 in Charleston, Coles Co. IL bur: Dodge Grove Cem. Mattoon, IL parents: Thomas Porter Smith (1793-1868)and Frances R. Oden Theo. and Eliza. were married 09 Jan 1851/7 I tend to lean more toward 1851 based on their children's ages. Had 4 children: 1. IN m: Ida Warner 01 Jan 1881 in Coles Co. IL I have lots more on the Van Derens. clear Back to 1650 if you want to know more. :) We have descendents now from each of the 3 children that lived to adulthood. Phil Barto descends from Fanny and Chris. Webb phlyb@earthlink.net Marilyn Martin descends from Hubbard and Ida. cpq29mzf@gte.net I know that both of them would like to correspond with you. Since I have not talked to either of them for a while, they might have more on your line than I have. Any way, keep me posted and if you can, send me a family group sheet or whatever so that I can include your line in my Van Deren gene. It is getting so big that I am beginning to lose things!!! Thanks for writing!!!!! Marcie Van Deren 825 Helena Flats Rd. Kalispell, MT 59901
