Richard George Vant was my great grandfather,he was born 1856 Stepney. His father was Christopher Vant(born 1816) who was a military tailor originally from Ripon. and his mother was Helena Lowrey born 1818 Valenciennes France, her father at the time serving in either the RHA or artillery.

Richard George became a colour sergeant with the Worcester Regiment, and the two sons you mentioned that were killed were my grandmothers brothers,(grandmother being their sister Violet Catherine Vant born 1893 Evesham), They also had an elder brother Francis Dennis Vant who served with the Coldstream Guards and survived the war.
