I'm looking for more information about the ancestry of Letitia Frances Walker Vick Downs, the daughter of John Wesley Vick and Letitia Frances Booker, and the granddaughter of Newit Vick.
In 1954, she allowed some family letters to be microfilmed by the Southern Historic Manuscrpt Collection at UNC. These letters were written by my ancestors James and John Muir to James' son-in-law, Samuel Hepburn. I would like to know how the letters were passed down to Lettie Vick Downs, where the originals are now, and if the family has any other letters or information about the Muirs.
James Muir married Sarah Nevett, which makes me wonder if there is a connection to Newit Vick through her family. The Muirs lived in Dorchester County, Maryland. The letters are from the 1780's.
Any leads would be very much appreciated!
