There is an internet site, the address of which I've lost, that has the genealogies of all the presidents.
On the origin of Cornelis Volkertszen, I've seen it written 6 May 1584 (or 1574) at Hoorn, Netherlands; or c1610 at Kniphausen, Oldenburg, Germany. Kniphausen and the later date make more sense, but I'm not sure if it's conclusive.
