I have been researching the Waddell/Waddle family for the past couple of years and have had some difficulty with obtaining family history information beyond my great-great grandfather James W. Waddle who I believe was born on March 12, 1842 in White County, Tennessee. I am also searching for information about his wife’s family (Permelia Odle).
General Background on the family: James married Permelia A. Odle in White County on July 22, 1868. They had 10 children which I have listed below. Mary was the first child and she is listed in the 1870 Census from Shady Grove, White County with James and Permelia. I believe that the first 3-5 children were born in White County before the family moved to Moulton, Lawrence County, Alabama. The family only lived there for a 2-6 years before moving to Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas. There is a strong possibility that the family lived in Kentucky for a few years before moving to Alabama. I have attempted to list some details I have obtained on the family pertaining to birth and death dates as well as a couple of censuses from White Couny to give a brief background.
