Re. Daniels / Weedon.
I have the death certificate for Henrietta Fletcher, widow of Henry Weedon, 17 March 1881, Macedon, buried in the Nicholls family grave there. Parents were James Hover and Elizabeth ?. Have been unable to trace them back any further. I have a photo of Eliza Weedon / Nicholls. James Nicholls married Eliza Weedon 15 July 1850 in Adelaide. I also have a photo of the funeral card for Henrietta Daniels, died 8 Sep. 1890 aged 71 years. I have a copy from the Parish Register St. Mary Newington, in County Surrey at St. Peter’s Church, Walworth, for Eliza Weedon, born 25/12/1830, christened 5/6/1831. The family lived in Portland Street and Henry was a carpenter. The reference for the death of Henry on trip out on the “Hooghly” 28 October 1848 came from the “South Australian Register” 6 Dec 1848 “Shipping Intellegence” ---the first edition ignores death of Henry but it is in 3rd edition (State Library VIC) The report of passengers also mentions the Daniels. Did you know that Sir Henry Weedon, son of Henry Weedon Jnr and Emily Emery, born Melb 26 Mar 1859, died Sydney 2 Mar 1921, was Lord Mayor of Melbourne 1905 to 1908 and was knighted in 1908. He laid the foundation stone of the Melbourne Town Hall Annexe.
Marion Gormley (nee Daniels) born 1903, Essendon, died NSW. Daughter of James Daniels and Alice Bale and granddaughter of Henrietta Daniels (Weedon) sang at both my parents wedding and at my wedding and also at my parent’s golden wedding held at our house, I have a photo of her at it.
I hope that this is of some help and let me know if I can give you any further help.
