Thank you for your reply. I also think William Josiah Cater is oldest child of George Cater & Mary Moore. I know that John and George are brothers, Eliza B. Cater is a sister and think Jane Cater and Sarah Cater fit in also. I would like to find records to prove it. I also noticed the 1850 Ohio, Belmont Co. Census that Samuel & Mary Ann Wharton lived next door to John Cater,Sr. Mary Ann Cater's uncle. Also same page line 39 William W. Cater and family, son of John Cater,Sr.
Where did you get birth dates of Nathan Lewis Wharton and brother Samuel Wharton? From ancestry.com and Rootsweb family trees they all have them born on the same day 6/10,1815. I like to follow up my research with records of proof and don't beleive everything is correct on the web.
Are you researching the Caters or Wharton line?
Hope to get your reply soon. I live in CA and go to Salt Lake City to do research once a year, I hope to go in July and find some answers.
