Hello!

Thanks so much for responding to my query about Joseph Wharton. Here in Stafford we had Whartons/Whortons and Hortons. I don't know whether there was any connection between them or not. At least some of the Whartons/Whortons were interracial, though I don't know (and doubt) that Joseph was of that branch of the family. Besides Joseph, the militia records also include Richard, Samuel, and William. Unfortunately, they didn't leave enough of a paper trail here for me to learn much about them. I'm hoping a descendant might be able to help.

Thanks again!
Jerrilynn
