Have you ever wondered about those MISSING family history records? are you STUCK? or what happened BEFORE there were records? I have just started a WHITING DNA PROJECT in an attempt to solve some of the above problems I am having with my family tree. My family come from Berkshire in England and may have come up from Hampshire at some time. My records go back to WHITEING around 1750 and stop! The WHITING surname may originate from the 'fish' or even WIHTGAR (514 AD) the English Warlord who came to Britain at the time of Vortigen as a mercenary and ended up as Ruler of the Isle of White and ancester of many of the later Kings. Or, it could have come from WHITE which is related to Wise, Wizard, or Witch, having religious origins. What I am asking is, if you Surname is WHITING and you are MALE you have inherited DNA from you father, and his father, and his father, ............back 1000's of years. You probably you have more distant relatives right across Europe. The change across the generations of DNA (mutation) is just 2%, that is 1 in 50 generations. YOU CAN HELP me and your own Research by joining the WHITING DNA PROJECT. You only have to rub a cotton bud inside you cheek and post it on, no blood et cetera. CONTACT or JUST LOOK THROUGH the link DNA Heritage's FAQ's pages for more information and a Tutorial ( http://www.dnaheritage.com/tutorial1.asp and http://www.dnaheritage.com/faqs.asp). The DNA used in tests is only 'junk DNA' (i.e. not medically informative) and will not identify you as an individual. This has no medical value, and the tests are certainly not as discriminating as a standard 'forensic' profile used by the police. As part of a SURNAME Project, each test is heavily discounted so any potential participant will see it is excellent value when comparing it against the time and cost of traditional record-based research, and it can offer insights into your joint family history that may not be seen otherwise. For British contributors it is especially good value with the fall in the value of the dollar and for Americans it is still the same. Notify Administrator about this message?
