I have found conflicting info about the Whortons who moved from Chariton Co., MO, to Grundy Co., MO. The Henry Whorton (b.abt.1808) (spelled various ways) who married Lucinda Coy (b.abt.1814) was apparently living in Chariton Co in 1840 and moved to Grundy Co by 1850. Does anyone have an accurate list of this couple's children?
And listed on the 1850 Chariton Co, Mo, census is the Johnson and Eliza Whorton family. I feel that at least two of this couple's children are probably James Leonard Whorton (b.1836) who married Nancy Adeline Boon, and Henry Whorton (b.1840) who married 1st Sophia Neff and 2nd Ella Bratton.
However, I have seen James Leonard and Henry listed as children of Henry and Lucinda Coy Whorton. I do not think this is correct. Would like to correspond with anyone connected to these Whortons. cakemp@yahoo.com
