There is a William and Bartlett Whorton in the 1820 census of Jasper Co., Georgia on same page as Micajah Sansom Jr. and Sr. When Micajah Sansom, Sr. died he left property to his granddaughter, Artemissa Malone (md. 12 May 1830 to Alexander Wallace). Alexander's brother, Thomas md. a Martha Bentley who is a widow in 1840 census of Benton Co., Alabama. Alex's sister-in-law, Dolly Malone (perhaps as Dolly Sansom) md. a Jeptha Whorton. Jeptha and Alex Wallace were joint owners of some land in Benton/Calhoun Co., Alabama in about 1830-35. Jeptha is listed in the census as Jeptha Horton, not Whorton in 1830 census. I am not sure how all this figures out, but Hezekiah Bentley is perhaps related to Martha Bentley who md. Thomas Wallace, a b/o Alexander (the couples married in Newton Co., Georgia). Thomas died and Patsy (Martha Bentley) Wallace is in the 1840 census of Benton Co., Alabama and I believe Bentley's live near the Wallaces (both Alex and his sister-in-law Martha "Patsy or Patty" Wallace) and Jeptha as Horton (Whorton) in this 1840 census. I think there is a John Bentley and Isaac Bentley in this census also. I am not sure how this figures, but somewhere the Bartlett Whorton/Wharton family there is ties to my husband's genealogy of Wallace/Sansom/Malone. I believe one of Daniel Malone (f/o Artemissa, Dolly and Miranda Clinton Malone) brother's had a granddaughter who married a Whorton/Horton and might have lived in the DeKalb Co., Alabama area in the 1830's. Daniel is much younger than some of his siblings. Notify Administrator about this message?
