GORNOR/GORNAR/GOURNON

I originally had Joseph GORNAR/GOURNON, b. c. 1819 WI; m. 15 Jul 1840 Lapointe, WI to Caroline/Charlotte LAGARDE (d/o Jean-Baptiste & Charlotte ____), as the son of Louis GORNOR, b. c.1790 WI & Marie-Archangel CADOTTE-NOLIN. I have now found out that his (Joseph's) mother was the daughter of Joseph DUFAULT, name unknown. Joseph did not appear in the 1836 mix-blood list with Louis, he is however in the 1839 mix-blood list (Louis is not). If he is the son of Louis, then it is by a different marriage, can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks, Jim.
