I am searching for information on the parents of Dr. Stebbins A. Mellen (b. 02 Jan 1839, m. 07 Jul 1863, d. 18 Jul 1903). I believe he was the son of Alfred S. Mellen, but haven't been able to find documentation that verifies the connection (birth/marriage records, etc.). His wife was Susan A. Lombard, daughter of Dexter Lombard and Nancy Bates. Their children were Hattie A. (Mellen) Morton and William A. Mellen. The History of Vernon County, Wisconsin (1884) mentions that Stebbins lived in Sheboygan County from 1847 to 1871, and that his father was a pioneer of Sheboygan County. The Lombards were living Holland, Sheboygan Co. in 1860, just prior to Stebbins & Susan's marriage.
