Has anybody any information with regard to Even Evensen found in the 1880 census of Unity? He may be related to me (my Great-grandfather's brother). Born in Norway, Rogaland County in 1844 he emigrated with his brother Knut in May 1871 from Stavanger to Quebec on the 'Nordens Dronning'. They were both farmers having worked on their family farm at Ovre Ostraadt, Rogaland. They appear as 'Farmer' and 'Farm Laborer' respectively in the census. Other members of the household include Wife Maria Evensen, Son Adolph Evensen (age 7, which would tie in nicely with emigration as a single man in 1871) and Knud also appears (although there may be a mistake with the spelling of the surname as it appears as Kleven).
