Cindy, Did you find any more information on your trip to N.Y? The DAR record by Minnie F. Gill shows her as great grandau of John Widrig and Mary Christman and the great great grandau of George Widrig and Nancy Sanford, his wife. But John is son of George & Maria Elizabeth Bender. So how does she figure this? It would seem your Sanford should be a son of John and a Sanford. Could she have it mixed up with Johns bro Francis that md Nancy Skinner?
Do you have the Rev. War record of George Widrig? I just received his will & estate settlement. It mentions his dau Margaret, wife of David Morgan. (And son John Widrig). He left no widow.
