What else do you have on Katrina Wilkens & Richard AKA Gerhard Dietrich Hellmann? These are my 2 great grandparents through their daughter Mary Elizabeth who married William Wischer.
I have made 3 trips to the FHL the past 2 weeks searching through church records from the Vechta area of Germany. I've been looking for Dietrich, haven't found him yet, but did find the baptism of Catherine Elisabeth Wilkens on March 10 1857, born March 8 1857 in the church records for St. Vitus in Visbek Germany. Her parents were Henrich Conrad Wilkens & Anna Maria Frese/Freese. I also found several siblings for "Katrina".
Richard's name appears as Gerhardi Dietrich & Katina's as Catherine Elisabeth on baptisms at St. Joseph's in Covington Ky for daughter Mary Elizabeth & Henry.
Note that the year of her birth in the record is 1857, not 1856 as appeared on her mass card in 1947.
Also note that Richard died in May 1887, not 1888. The article which appeared in the Cincinnati Enquirer May 6 1887 regarding his death (fall from 3rd floor of a building on Court St. in Cincinnati) states that he was then 28 years old placing his birth about 1858.
