Hi Kim, The information I provided to you about the family of George Wilkins in New Brunswick... was taken from the ..1861 CENSUS of New Brunswick (Canterbury, York County) !!! Also, the Census states that the parents, George and Mary, were American. And, that their first four children were American. Their youngest three children were Naturalized. This means that George Wilkins moved his family out of Maine (?)... in 1853. ... Also, please note that their oldest son was reported as married and a HoH on this 1861 CENSUS: George Freeman Wilkins, American, and Sarah Wilkins, Naturalized. ... Also, please note that Clarissa Wilkins married in 1869...to Joseph Kidder. .... In addition, Miss Mary J. Wilkins, born in Amity, ME, around 1815. This was the same approximate year that George Wilkins was born in northern ME. Brother/sister? Cousins? Miss Mary J. Wilkins married "Calvin" Kidder (1799-1891) in 1834. ..... For others reading this message, both Kim and I are searching for the origins of these two Wilkins families who were living in northern MAINE around 1800.
