In response to an inquiry about Percy Herbert Wilkin in the Washington State Forum, there was an inquiry about some possible relationships. The following are responses I posted there and have posted to New York as well as New Jersey, and now here on the Wilkin Forum.
Janice Dailey, Thank you for your response to my Percy Herbert Wilkin message. To answer your inquiry about the possibilities of Percy Herbert Wilkin being related to James and Bartholomew Conley: My Grandfather Wilkin (William Herbert Wilkin) and my Grandmother Wilkin (Mary Hodge Percy Wilkin) lived in Phillipsburg, New Jersey for all of my knowledge of them--which is not very much. However, I know that there were Wilkin kin from the New York area, and there is information in my records that William Herbert Wilkin was born on Staten Island. From the 1930 census data, William Herbert Wilkin was born about 1879. From the same census data, his father was born in Northern Ireland and his mother was born in New York. Mary Hodge Percy Wilkin was born in England as were both of her parents. Mary was born about 1875. I have some family pictures that have some names on them, and hopefully this weekend I will have time to research in them for some other names that might be pertinent.
Janice, after further searching through pictures that I have, I came up with these names of people related to my grandparents, William Herbert and Mary Hodge Percy Wilkin family. There is the name of Martha Wilkin who is William Herbert's father. Martha had a sister Ida. There is also a picture of a Freddie Wilkin and separately a picture of Irene Wilkin, locations unknown. I have one other picture of Mary Wilkin with Mary McCormick, showing location of Chester, New York--both Mary's appear to be in their twenties in this picture.
I think I will post these names in the New York and New Jersey message boards along with Bartholomew and James B. Conley to see if anyone will respond from those sites. I will also post to the Wilkin message board.
