WILKINS in Maine in 1700's / 1800's

Hello. I just checked the archives and it appears that no one has mentioned the WILKINS families in Maine on this Board in about 2 years. So, I'd like to ask if anyone has any new information on them.

I am descended from Samuel WILKINS reportedly born in 1770's in "Maine" - probably in the area around Unity, ME. I am descended from him twice, once through daughter and once through his son.

I believe his father was William WILKINS from Middleton, MA, who arrived in "Maine" in the 1770's. But, I cannot prove it.

There is more information in the archives of the Board, and moreso in the archives of the MA and ME Lists and the WILKINS List at www.rootsweb.com (and the Boards there)

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

P.S. I know there were WILKINS researchers back in the 1999 to 2001 timeframe, who appear to no longer post information. It would be nice to hear from them.
