Hi Glen. I just saw this posting of yours. I just looked at the 1910 and 1920 census reports for Leon WILKINS and I see that he was born in Maine, but his father was born in "Canada, English." WILKINS, LEON E (1920 U.S. Census) MAINE , PISCATAQUIS, MONSON Age: 35, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: ME Series: T625 Roll: 647 Page: 246 In both years, he is living with his mother, Emily. I haven't looked at George Freeman WILKINS' family in a couple of years, so I don't remember the names of all of his 10 children. He and his wife, Mary Ann NEAL, were in New Brunswick in 1860's, I believe. After Mary's death, most of the family returned to Maine. But, the oldest son, George "Freeman" WILKINS and his wife remained in New Brunswick. They had 3 or 4 children who married and remained in NB. There are a few of the children of George and Mary who I have not been able to trace. One in particular was Sanford WILKINS, whom I suspect might have died young. One reason I suspect this is that his nephew, my great-grandfather, was named George "Sanford" KIDDER. I'll have to go back to the archives of the Maine and New Brunswick and WILKINS Lists at www.rootsweb.com to remind myself of what I found out from 2003 to 2005. Betty (near Lowell, MA) P.S. My main research of 13 years is on the KIDDER name. And, in my great-grandfather's extended family, several of the people went by their middle names. So records should be searched for both. Unfortunately, for someone like, Sanford WILKINS, I don't know the middle names of George and Mary's 10 children. Notify Administrator about this message?
