1850 Census Oktibbeha Co, MS shows Susan was b. AL. It also shows 2 children--William 3 and James 9 mos. Also living with them is Sophiah Woolam age 15. Did James have a prior marriage? --he is 35 in that census and Susan 19.
Are you sure that the one in 1860 AL is James M ? There are children older than 10.
There were 4 Wilkins families in MS in 1840 Census with girls in the right age limit. James C. Wilkins in Adams Co.--Richard Wilkins in Smith Co. --Robert Wilkins in Tippah Co., and Samuel Wilkins in Pontotoc Co.
My Wilkins line was in Noxubee Co. and we have a Susan--but she married a Bell and moved to TX.
