I know she was born 1838 in Demopolis,Hale, Alabama. She married Charles Ellis Wilkins on May 5 1857 in Marengo Co.That is all the information I have available. I know her info from date of marriage forward. But it seems as if she was hattched from a turnip or something. I have leads that lead me to Isaac Gillen and Matilda Foster but not this is them kinda thing. I have considered the possibility that she was of Indian heritage because of timeline and place also the french settlers were given land there cheap in hopes for them to raise grapes for wine. Then alot moved to Crichton alabama which is a community in Mobile, Where Charles Ellis and Nancy Jane settled and raised there family. But see Charles Ellis daddy Josiah was probate judge in Mobile in 30's but he died in 1846 which was before they married. Charles was just 14 when his daddy died. His sister Mary Emma married and moved to Birmingham but his mother Lucy Morse Wilkins lived with him and Jane. Anyway thats another rabbit trail.If you could help it would be greatly appreciated. _sandy
