Forgot to mention my Thompsons are Cherokee and lived for a while in the Mt. Tabor Indian Community just south of Kilgore, Texas. If these are your Wilsons, you are related to James Madison & Zachary Taylor by blood and Sam Houston & Jefferson Davis by marriage.
The cemetery at Mt. Tabor (Laird Hill) is a Cherokee cemetery and is now called the Thompson Cemetery.
My great grandfather, James Davis Vinson married Mary Magdaline Wilson in Watauga County, Alabama. Gilbert Westley Wilson is her brother. His wife, Nancy Harnage, is Cherokee, therefore their children are on the final rolls.
