My gggg-grandfather, David Wilson, was born in 1768, probably in Chambersburg, PA (Franklin Co.). (There is an unsourced LDS record indicating this.) David moved to Washington County, PA., and then around 1804 moved to Coitsville Township in Trumbull County, Ohio, and lived out his life there. His will mentions his father, William Wilson, who left David and David's sister, Margaret, some money. I have not been able to find any other info on David's father, William or his sister, Margaret. I do know that David married Jane Wiley, who was probably from Washington County. I have not determined her parents yet. David and Jane had children, Jane (who married a Mayrs), Anna (who married a Crawford), another daughter who probably died young, and sons, David and William.
There was also a family of Wilsons north of them in Brookfield Township, Trumbull County around the same time period. This family consists of Col. Samuel Wilson (born around 1740) who married Jane Vance, and their sons, William, James M. and Hugh, plus a daughter or two, I believe. They also came from Washington County in the early 1800s. I suspect this family may be related to David Wilson's family, as they lived near each other in Washington. Co., moved to Trumbull Co. around the same time, and Samuel's son James M. and David were both trained as wheelwrights in Beaver County, PA. I have a few other clues that they might be related. I suspect Samuel may have been David's uncle, his father William's brother.
If you have any info on these families, I'd love to hear from you.
