Mary E. Woodyard was the daughter of Thomas and Esther (Adams) Woodyard, as follows:

Thomas Woodyard (1740-January 1823 Fairfax County, VA) was in Fairfax County in 1789. He possibly married before 1770 Esther Adams, daughter of Lodowick and Verlinda (Posey) Adams of Charles County, MD. Thomas’ will was written in Fairfax County on 23 May 1815 and proved on 16 February 1824. His descendants also rendered the surname as Woodward. They had Mary Woodyard (1770-before 1850) married Noah Martin of Fairfax County, VA. He was a wheelwright and widower, living there with his daughter Phoebe Harrison, wife of John H. Harrison, in 1850. They may have had another son Sampson Martin (1804-1850+) who married Cynthia Punnell?.

Know this is years after the fact, but hope it helps (better late than never?)
