Pat -- James Woodyard served with the 26th Battalion of the Flying Camp Regiment of Maryland line under Francis Mastin. He enlisted on 16 March 1776 under Captain Thomas Henson of Charles County, MD. He was in his early 50s when he did so. The information is found in the book REVOLUTIONARY PATRIOTS OF CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND 1775-1783 by Henry C. Peden Jr. A copy of the book can be found in the Library of St. Mary's College of Maryland in St. Mary's City, Maryland 20686. Your local library should be able to get it for you. The information on James Woodyard is found on page 329 along with his brother Henry's service.
