I have the same problem with my memory! I searched for an Ami Conde in Athens Co. after I got your first message. I found a write up and a picture of an Ami Condee. I think this is the same person you said Ami #1 was named for. I have found Conde and Condee used for the same name, before. Perhaps Cundiff was how it sounded to whomever was writing it down.
