Oh Olney, IL. Those are my magic words. (Getting a little sentamental here. Sorry) My parents grew up in Olney, Dale Crum from Claremont and Suzanne Bohrer or 1315 N. Walnut St. Dad's parents still live on their farm in Claremont but my mother's mother had to leave her cute little house and move to Mt. Vernon.
Anyway, just a little background for ya.
My name is Julie Crum Mattson and I have been hunting for my Xander people for a long time. My XZanders married into my father's Crum line, back in 1884.
Peter Crum, b. 1858, married Ida Bell Xander Sept. 12, 1884. Her father was a J.P. Xander. (The "J" could stand for John or Joseph or even Johann) ANyway, you mentioned your William was married in Olney, perhaps was he Ida Bell's brother? Ida Bell and Peter Crum are buried at the Goss Cem. (I have a great picture of them both).
Anyway...J.P. Xander was born May 16, 1833 was married to Mary Beterbender and died April 27, 1911. Mary Beterbender was born Nov. 18, 1838.
Would love to speak with you more about this family. I never know how many siblings Ida Bell had. Perhaps your William is one of them.
Sorry this was so long. Olney is a very dear place to me, it will always be "home", even though I never lived there, only visted every few months. Do you live there?
Talk to you soon.
Julie Crum
