I have been trying to find my greatgrandmother's father for a long time and can find nothing on him. Very little is know except family stories (whether or not they are all true I don't know) All anyone can remember him being called was Yancy(Yancey) Duke. My ggrandmother was Nancy Loretta Duke. Since she was born in 1855 he most have been born around 1830. On a census she stated he was born in Va. Family lore says he was a territorial judge. I don't know if Yancy was his real name or a nickname. If you have any info on a Duke/Yancy marriage maybe we can connect somewhere. Thanks Joyce
