Looking for any information about Martha Emma Yancy or Yancey Hood. She was the wife of Rev. John T. Hood, retired UMC minister. She was born, according to obit, February 22, 1873 in Shelby County Tennessee. One census I found for John Hood said she was born in Mississippi. She died April 9, 1927 in Haynes, Arkansas. Her husband, John T. Hood, married her January 25, 1900. They had four children (one obit says five but I can only find names of 4 - unless oned died at birth) Mary Emma, Angie, Laverne, and Robert. She was buried in Forest City, Arkansas, cemetery unknown. John was born September 17, 1863 and died September 3, 1941. He too was buried in Forest City next to his wife. Any information on this family would be much appreciated. He was my John was my grandmother's step brother. There was also a brother, William Hood. Their stepfather was Dewey M. Parsley of Weakley County, Tennessee.
